Trump Greenland news live updates: On his day 2 at Davos summit, US President Donald Trump is expected to promote the ‘Board of Peace’, a body for resolving international conflicts. He will then meet Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss a ceasefire in Ukraine.
The US president says the countries will be charged a "10% tariff on any or all goods" exported to the US from 1 February.
Mr. Trump, ultimately, walked back his threats in Davos, saying that an understanding had been reached with NATO to avoid a confrontation. Still, Mr. Zelensky criticized Europe’s response, which included sending a small contingent of troops to Greenland as a show of solidarity.
With tension growing between the US and its European allies over Donald Trump’s bid to acquire Greenland, the president said today he has “a lot of meetings” scheduled to discuss the territory and suggested he could use tools beyond tariffs to acquire the Arctic island.
After weeks of declaring the U.S. must own Greenland, Pres. Trump backed off on threats to take the country by force and dropped NATO tariffs threats.
You know, when the woman was shot, I felt terribly about that. And I understand both sides of it.
While Trump insisted he wouldn't use force to take Greenland, another line injected mob-like menace to his Davos speech
It appears that President Trump is no longer planning to invade Greenland and take it over. Instead, he now says that he has agreed to a "framework" of a future Greenland deal.
